The ready-mix concrete batching plant equipment:
- Control System & PLC: The batching plant is managed by an integrated control panel centered around a PLC XBC-DR60SU, which serves as the core automation brain.
- Weighing Indicators: The system is integrated with three units of CAS CI-1580A weighing indicators and one unit of Sonic A12E weighing indicator to ensure precise measurement.
- Sensors and Integration: These indicators and controllers are directly connected to load cells, bridging the electronic data system with the plant’s mechanical and electrical equipment to accurately measure and batch raw materials like cement, sand, and split stone.
Summary of the ready-mix concrete production process at a batching plant:
- Computer & PLC Data Entry: The operator inputs the mix design data—such as concrete grade, volume, and water-cement ratio—into a computer integrated directly with a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
- Automated Material Weighing: Based on the recipe, the PLC precisely weighs each raw material using electronic load cells, typically including coarse aggregate split stone (~1,100 to 1,250 kg), fine aggregate sand (~850 to 950 kg), cement (~350 to 450 kg), water (~160 to 200 liters), and chemical admixtures (~1.5 to 3.5 liters) per batch.
- Mixing Process: The weighed ingredients are dropped into the main mixer unit for a dry mix phase, followed by a wet mix phase lasting 60 to 90 seconds to ensure a homogeneous, high-quality concrete mixture.
- Loading into the Truck Mixer: Finally, the fresh concrete is discharged into a truck mixer whose drum rotates continuously at charging speed to prevent segregation before being dispatched to the construction site.
